課程概述 |
九零年代台灣的性別研究，在某個程度上已經隨著性別議題主流化、學院建制化的過程而逐漸成為社會學的主要課題，也有越來越多的碩博士論文投入性別研究。當前我們面對的主要挑戰，不再只是看見性別，而是如何深化性別研究，超越把性別加進去攪一攪 (add gender in)的分析方式，我們需要對於性別的概念進行更精確的理論界定，同時，反省西方中心的概念工具，進而探究在不同的社會、文化與歷史脈絡中，性別作為壓迫結構、社會建構以及主體實作等不同層次的在地經驗。

課程目標 |
本課程內容分為兩大部份，第一部份涵蓋女性主義理論對於sex與gender的不同理論觀點與概念化方式，包括七零年代探討父權起源的經典文獻、八零年代的女性主義立場論，俗民方法論傳統下對性別實作的強調，以及九零年代從後現代、後殖民主義出發對於主體與差異政治的反思。第二部份的重點強調從交織(intersecting)的理論觀點探討性別化的差異經驗，涉及性、母職、陽剛氣質、跨國遷移、性工作、跨性別等議題。 |

課程要求 |
我們不崇尚高空比武式的讀書比賽，而希望看到大家在閱讀的過程中跟自己關切的議題、或是未來研究的主題，能有互動和對話。基本要求是：一定要讀書，無故不缺席。每個人都要事先閱讀相關文獻，並輪流主持討論、報告解讀文本。本課程以十五人為限，人數有餘裕時可開放旁聽，旁聽生不是free-rider，請同樣繳交心得與參與口頭報告。
每週都要針對指定閱讀教材繳交一到兩頁的閱讀心得。閱讀心得的內容請回應我提出的問題（Part I），簡要摘要該文的主要論點（不是翻譯，而是指出作者問的問題、對話的對象、運用的資料、回答的方式、以及其理論的意義），你的看法（有哪些同意與不同意的地方、對你有怎樣的啟發），以及意義不太確定、想要進一歩討論的問題。請在上課前一天五點前上傳到 Dropbox，每週輪流由一位同學紀錄課堂討論要點，作為大家參考（請於課後一周內上傳）。
1. 課堂參與討論、分組報告、輪流紀錄 30%
2. 每週閱讀心得 (800-1000字) 30%
3. 期末報告40%：請選擇你想要研究的性別相關主題撰寫初步的研究計劃，包括描述研究背景、初步文獻回顧，以及研究問題與方法。文長為3500-4000字，超過部份不予計分。如果你已經在進行論文研究，也可以根據你的研究主題，繳交類似篇幅的分析報告。

性別社會學為研究所課程，將予碩博士生優先選課。全班最多只能容納20人，若人數有餘裕，可開放大學部同學選修。
若選修人數不超過20，才開放旁聽，旁聽同學也要閱讀文本、參與討論。
不過本課程以seminar 討論為主，每週閱讀英文文本份量頗重，請大學部同學斟酌。
